Richmond Hill Coyotes Bring the COSHL Cup to City Hall

The Richmond Hill Coyotes made a special visit to City Hall this week, proudly bringing the inaugural COSHL Championship Cup to the heart of the community. General Manager and owner Alex Marchisello, along with Assistant General Manager and part-owner Brandon Jang, were welcomed by Mayor David West and Councillor Scott Thompson to celebrate the team’s incredible season.

It was a proud moment for the organization, one that symbolized just how far the Coyotes have come. With the Cup in hand and smiles all around, Alex and Brandon took a moment to reflect on the journey. From the early days of building a roster to clinching the league’s highest honour, it’s been a ride to remember.

“This really means a lot,” said Marchisello. “It’s not just about the win. It’s about everyone who’s been part of this, our players, our staff, our sponsors, and the entire Richmond Hill community. We couldn’t have done it without the support.”

Jang reflected on the season, calling it a special group of players who came together from all corners of the hockey world. “Whether they were fresh out of junior or had just finished their pro careers, everyone bought in and found their role. That’s what made this championship possible.”

Councillor Thompson and Mayor West congratulated the organization on its success in the Coyotes' first year of operation, highlighting the team’s commitment to local engagement, youth mentorship, and growing the game of hockey in Richmond Hill. They spoke about how the Coyotes have become more than just a team, they’ve become a symbol of community pride.

With the Cup now home, and the city standing firmly behind them, the Coyotes are already looking ahead. The bar has been set, the foundation has been laid, and Richmond Hill hockey is just getting started.
