YOUR RICHMOND HILL COYOTES ARE THE INAUGURAL COSHL CHAMPIONS
History has been made. The Richmond Hill Coyotes have claimed their place as the first-ever champions of the Central Ontario Super Hockey League (COSHL). In a hard-fought battle against the Madoc Wildcats, the Coyotes won game 3 with a score of 5-3, sweeping the series and capping off an unforgettable run.
Game 3 was a true team effort led by captain David Kostuch, who opened the scoring and later set up Austin Maietta’s high-flying game-winner in the final two minutes. Brett Thorne and Nic Campese added to the tally, and Tye Campbell sealed the deal with a dagger into the empty net. Zion Micelli held the fort down between the pipes, posting a playoff high of 39 saves.
During our playoff hunt, every player rose to the occasion. But this championship wasn’t won in a single game, it was the result of an entire season where everyone bought in, had each other’s backs, and built something bigger than hockey. The Coyotes competed with heart, discipline, and the kind of chemistry that turns teammates into family. Guided by a coaching staff that preached accountability and hard work, and backed by a fan base that brought the noise all season long, the Coyotes didn’t just win, they made our city proud.
To our players, thank you for giving everything you had.
